Tragic: Fox News Contributor D**s Following Hidden Battle With Ca**er

Dr. Kelly Powers, a Fox News contributor known for her appearances on Red Eye and Fox Business, passed away on Sunday at the age of 45 after battling a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer, glioblastoma. She was diagnosed in 2020 and initially underwent successful surgery to remove the tumor. However, the cancer returned in 2024. Despite undergoing three surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation, she continued to fight the illness while also becoming a mother.

Dr. Powers passed away in New Jersey. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, and a funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Tower Hill Church in Red Bank.

“She was a brave and beautiful soul who could make friends anywhere she went,” her obituary reads. “Kelly had a love for people and she was dedicated to helping others. Most important to her was her family.”

Born on May 13, 1979, in Yonkers, she studied at Baruch College, the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, and earned a master’s degree in science from the University of San Francisco. She completed residencies at Georgetown University and Boston University.

Powers was a respected doctor and surgeon and became a prominent medical expert on television, frequently appearing on Fox News, CNN, NBC, and CBS.

She began experiencing health issues during a live Fox News segment on heart health. “It’s crazy. I went into heart failure while doing a report live — talking about the subtle signs that women often miss,” she said in a later interview.

During her battle with brain cancer, she gave birth to her son, Bennett. She joked that chemotherapy left her and baby Bennett sharing the same haircut. Friends raised nearly $100,000 to help cover costs for an experimental treatment not covered by insurance.

Dr. Kelly Powers is survived by her husband, Steven Doll, and their young son, Bennett.
