Teen daughter disowns mother in favor of cheating dad – years later she comes back begging

The first instance of infidelity happened right after she gave birth to their child, Kelly. Vulnerable and contemplating leaving her husband, she turned to her family for advice. Despite their kind words, she struggled to make a decision and ultimately stayed in the marriage. She convinced herself that he husband cheated on her because she was unable to be the best wife to him during her pregnancy. Years later, when Kelly was around 12, her husband cheated again. This time, she was determined to file for a divorce. Her family and in-laws, however, were opposed to the idea, as they wanted to avoid a scandal that could ruin the family’s reputation. Reluctantly, she filed for divorce, but the custody battle over Kelly became grueling, and her ex-husband’s legal team, along with her in-laws, had the upper hand. The woman eventually lost custody of Kelly, but she received alimony and a reasonable settlement. Despite her best efforts to stay in touch with her daughter, the woman’s in-laws and her own parents painted her as the villain to Kelly. They portrayed her as unforgiving and unwilling to accept her ex-husband’s apologies. As a result, when Kelly became a teenager, she had been thoroughly convinced that her mother was evil.

During these difficult times, the woman found comfort in her best friend, Tina, who offered unwavering support and companionship. Tina was her confidant, her rock, without whom she might not have persevered. Through the years, the woman attempted to rekindle her relationship with her daughter Kelly, and even though she agreed to support her daughter’s graduate school tuition, the conditions were tough. In exchange for her mother’s financial support, Kelly had to give up her position as the woman’s heir, as stipulated in her mother’s will. However, life had its way of balancing the scales. Kelly focused on rebuilding her life, pursuing a degree in accountancy, and securing a high-paying job. On the other hand, Kelly’s dad (the woman’s ex-husband) faced a series of misfortunes, losing his job and becoming entangled in a lawsuit. He soon depleted his resources, including the money intended for Kelly’s college education. With her newfound financial independence and growing understanding of life’s complexities, Kelly had a change of heart and expressed her desire to reconnect with her mother. The woman couldn’t help but wonder if the change of heart was motivated by her recent financial difficulties, especially after Kelly’s tuition was no longer guaranteed. While the woman agreed to provide for her daughter’s graduate school expenses, the stipulation required Kelly to forfeit her inheritance status as indicated in her mother’s will. In the woman’s will, her main beneficiary was her goddaughter, Laura, who had been like a daughter to her over the years. Unsurprisingly, this decision has ignited a family controversy. Relatives are divided over whether the woman was right to prioritize Laura as her heir over her biological daughter, who seemed interested in reconnecting only after financial difficulties arose.
