Remember her? She was so pretty. See how she looks now

She still looks as beautiful as ever. Phoebe Cates became an icon after she posed by the pool topless in the famous bikini scene from the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High in 1982. Rolling Stone magazine described it as the most unforgettable bikini moment in film history. Born into a family of actors and directors, acting seemed to run in Cates’ blood. She had a passion for dancing as a teenager and was even awarded a scholarship to the School of American Ballet. Unfortunately, she had to give up dancing at the age of 14 because of a knee injury.

She gave up dancing and started modeling. Cates became popular among teenagers after appearing in several magazines for teens. She even graced the cover of Seventeen magazine four times. But eventually, she grew tired of it and decided to pursue a career in film. She mentioned that her modeling career became repetitive and monotonous. Eventually, she continued doing it only for the sake of earning money. Cates encountered her film agent during a party at the renowned Studio 54 in New York one night. Later, she received training from Robert Ravan, the founder of The Actors’ Circle in New York.
